I recently finished this font that I call Squares, for lack of a better name. My goal was to make a font as minimal as possible, but still recognizeable. In order to make the purest form possible, each letter starts as a perfect square then is formed by extracting shapes. The letters on the left show what was extracted and therefore could all be re-built to form the same square. The extracted shapes consist of 2 rectangles, a corner rounder, a small isosceles triangle and a large right triangle. I studied many fonts to determine what core features set each letter apart from the rest. Then determined the simplest types of extraction that could produce the most letters. If someone were to see one of these letters by itself, they may not even know its supposed to be a letter. However, when they are put together to form words they become readable because of the relationship to each other. A good example are the roll-overs on my home page. When you first entered my site, chances are you didn't even recognize them as letters much less words, because you only see one letter at a time. My font should be available for download soon.
